Once your puppy follows the treat 8 out of 10 times, you can start adding in your verbal cues: “sit” “down” and “stand”
With your puppy on leash, say “Let’s go” and start walking forward. Pause briefly then call your pup’s name, “Come”, and run backwards. Your puppy will need to turn around to come with you. You are running backward and your puppy is trotting along in front of you. Ask your puppy to sit. touch your pup’s collar, and reward.
